UNLV AND BROOKINGS INSTITUTION TO ANNOUNCE SIGNIFICANT JOINT INITIATIVE SEPT. 8
INAUGURAL LECTURES FROM BROOKINGS SCHOLARS TO FOLLOW ANNOUNCEMENT
WHAT: UNLV and The Brookings Institution will announce a significant joint initiative that will address infrastructure, public policy and quality of life challenges in Las Vegas and the mountain west states.
WHEN: Tuesday, September 8, at 9 a.m.
WHERE: UNLV Greenspun Hall
Located off Maryland Parkway and University Road
DETAILS: Following the announcement from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., UNLV and Brookings will present the inaugural Brookings Scholars lectures, which are free and open to the public:
• “How We’re Doing: A Composite Index of Global and National Trends,” with William J. Antholis, managing director, Brookings Institution.
• “Metropolitan Las Vegas: Challenges, Opportunities, and a Vision,” with Mark Muro, fellow and director of policy, Metropolitan Policy Program, Brookings Institution; and Robert E. Lang, nonresident senior fellow, Metropolitan Policy Program, Brookings Institution.
MEDIA: Members of the media will have opportunities for 1:1 interviews with key individuals involved in the partnership immediately following the formal announcement (at approximately 9:30 a.m.).
