UNLV ADOPTS A SCHOOL: PRESIDENT, ATHLETES TO VISIT CUNNINGHAM ELEMENTARY THIS WEDNESDAY



New UNLV Homecoming Tradition Brings Books, Homecoming Football Tickets, and Rebel Spirit to Students From Financially Challenged Families

WHAT: UNLV President Neal Smatresk, Interim Athletic Director Jerry Koloskie, “Hey Reb” (the UNLV mascot), cheerleaders and members of the 2009 Rebels football team will visit Cunningham Elementary School for a pep rally/assembly to bring Rebel spirit and homecoming football tickets to children from financially disadvantaged families.

Additionally, athletes will deliver books from a related UNLV book drive and teach Cunningham students the UNLV fight song. The effort is part of the new Adopt a School program tied to UNLV homecoming.

WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Cunningham Elementary School, 4145 Jimmy Durante Blvd. (near Harmon Avenue and Boulder Highway)
