GEORGE J. MALOOF TO BE HONORED AS UNLV 2009 OUTSTANDING ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR
UNLV HOMECOMING DINNER TO RECOGNIZE THALIA DONDERO WITH SILVER STATE AWARD
WHAT: George Maloff Jr., (88, B.S.), owner of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and a UNLV Foundation Board of Trustees member, will be honored as the 2009 Outstanding UNLV Alumnus of the Year during the UNLV Alumni Associations annual homecoming dinner.
Thalia Dondero, former Clark County Commissioner and a Nevada System of High Education Board of Regent will receive The Silver State Award, which recognizes non-alumni for support to UNLV.
WHEN: Friday, Oct. 17, 2009
6 p.m. Cocktails and silent auction to benefit student scholarships.
7:30 p.m. Dinner begins.

DETAILS: The Outstanding Alumnus-of-the-Year Award recognizes significant professional and personal achievements, volunteer service to UNLV and the community and school spirit. This is award is the highest honor the UNLV Alumni Association bestows since the tradition began in 1974.
